Hi Amy, I really wish I had come across your blog before we relocated. We are enjoying Wethersfield and its very convenient location to Newington, W. Hartford, downtown Hartford, Rocky Hill, 91 North/South, 84 East/West. I've been learning my way around and Wethersfield truly is a convenient location to live and my understanding is that the schools rank pretty well. We haven't experienced the school system yet, but we will in 2 years.

My one beef about Wethersfield are the pools. There is one indoor pool only open during the school year (and if you don't use the schools yet you don't know when they open and close...you can get the information, but most publications assume you know it) and one outdoor pool (a great pool) is only open in the summer at very strict hours. I came from a town in Seattle where our pool was open at 5:30AM and closed at 10PM (most days) every day of the year. If you have the capital, use it! My other beef is that babies can't start swimming lessons until they are 18 months. Again, where I moved from we had our son in swimming lessons at 6 months!

Overall, loving the area, just some minor gripes. Oh, one other...the sidewalks never seem to get finished, end at odd junctions or there are none where they could be utilized. And we wonder why gas prices are high and obesity is on the rise...
