When we were buying our house, we were looking in Bloomfield as well. Our real estate agent suggested we not buy in Bloomfield because we'd never be able to sell our house. I sensed subtext. Basically he was steering. (I probably should've fired him then, but we were so excited about buying.)

So instead we chose Hartford, which he *really* wasn't thrilled about. ("I don't really know much about Hartford, why don't we look in Avon or Farmington?") Had we selected either of those towns, we would have been at the beginning of the sub-prime tidal wave and would likely have gotten ourselves into something we couldn't afford. But he knew a broker...

Ultimately we got this cute little Dutch Colonial for a song, and still love it 11 years later. He probably made, like, three dollars.

Thank you HART for the Homeownership Made Easy program, and thank you Hartford for House Hartford.
