		<description>I&#039;ve been a Santa Cruz, California Realtor for twenty years. I used to cringe when an appraiser from the Silicon Valley area (30 miles away) called asking what the last three comps in the subdivision sold for. I could hear the disbelief when I told them we mostly didn&#039;t have subdivisions and that it was completely reasonable for three houses on a block to sell for $600,000, $1,200,000 and $790,000. 

Now the situation is impossible. We recently had our house appraised for a refi. The appraiser was based in another county and was completely clueless. 

I think I&#039;ll stick to taking a time out and continue writing murder mysteries set in the real estate community. So far my suspects and murderers have been Realtors and clients. The next book may have one of them killing an appraiser.
