An agent recently posted this gem for a newly listed property in our MLS database:
PERFECT UNIT FOR A SINGLE LADY OF ANY AGE; ABSOLUTLY A 24/7 SECURE BUILDING.
The caps and typos are their own, not mine.
My first question is, what if this single lady had a gentleman caller? Would she still find this to be the perfect unit?
And just what is wrong with this agent’s statement? Per state law, we are not allowed to discriminate against people based on familial status or gender. It shouldn’t matter if a person is a man or a woman, or if they’re single, married, separated, divorced, widowed or in an “It’s Complicated” relationship.
One positive? At least they aren’t discriminating based on age. 🙂
