Actually, based on how much I like sugary items, it’s more likely that I have a whole mouth of sweet teeth. So recently when I was driving down Park Road in West Hartford and saw that a new bakery opened next to Hall’s Market, I just had to stop in and check it out.

I was happily greeted by the owner, pastry chef and West Hartford resident, Beth Bolton and a co-worker, as they waited on a few other customers. I took my time making my selections as I looked beneath the little glass domes that carefully housed delectables. Oh, the choices! Should I go with the Lemon Blueberry Scone, a Blueberry Muffin, or maybe a Crumb Cake Square? The shop smelled heavenly, so I figured I really couldn’t go wrong, no matter what I decided.

The “Dirt Bomb” won my first pick- a mix between a donut and muffin, covered in sugar spice goodness. I also chose a Raspberry Breakfast Bar, a more traditional treat with a shortbread-like base, raspberry jam middle layer, and butter crumb topping. Both were presented nicely and traveled well back to my home in their cardboard bakery box.

The Dirt Bomb did not disappoint. It was happily noshed with some milk. I also had a tiny piece of the oversized Raspberry Breakfast Bar, which was also quite tasty.

A Little Something Bakery offers pies, tarts, cakes, cookies, and cheesecakes, in addition to their breakfast treats. They also help plan items for other special events, including wedding cakes.

So if you’re in the Park Road area and have a hankering for something sweet, be sure to stop by!

A Little Something Bakery
335 Park Road
West Hartford, CT
(860) 586-8711
Tuesday – Saturday 7:00 – 5:00
Sunday 8:00 – 1:00
Closed Monday

<center

I have a sweet tooth.
