{"id":3707,"date":"2010-01-01T11:57:04","date_gmt":"2010-01-01T16:57:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.amybergquist.com\/blog\/?p=3707"},"modified":"2010-01-01T11:57:04","modified_gmt":"2010-01-01T16:57:04","slug":"welcoming-2010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.amybergquist.com\/blog\/2010\/01\/01\/welcoming-2010\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcoming 2010"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.amybergquist.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/039.JPG\" alt=\"2009 Was So Yesterday\" title=\"2009 Was So Yesterday\" align=left hspace='6' class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3709\" \/>Don&#8217;t worry, we still exist!  \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>December was a refresh and recharge (and work) month for us, so we decided to leave the blog alone for a bit, as we figured most of you had other things to be doing too.<\/p>\n<p>We were doing real estate during the month though, of varying degrees of importance.<\/p>\n<p>I received several calls from people that are thinking about selling their homes this spring, so I&#8217;ve started meeting with them to determine what, if anything, they need to do to make their homes sale ready.<\/p>\n<p>Kyle and I showed lots of properties, helping one buyer find a new home and getting others ready to make the big decision once the right home shows up for them in the spring.<\/p>\n<p>We spent a lot of time in the kitchen preparing for various parties and family celebrations.  It made me realize just how dysfunctional the current space is; the sink is in the wrong place, there is too much unusable countertop space, the stove doesn&#8217;t fit baking sheets in a portrait position.  So, it gave us some more things to consider regarding the layout of our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amybergquist.com\/blog\/2009\/12\/15\/remodeling-our-kitchen\/\">future remodeled kitchen<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I found an organization that will be taking away our current kitchen.  More on them in a late January post.<\/p>\n<p>We found a <a href=\"http:\/\/jweb330.blogspot.com\/\">new blog<\/a> about living and working in Downtown Hartford.<\/p>\n<p>I got Kyle a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Elements-Style-Encyclopedia-Domestic-Architectural\/dp\/1554070791\/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&#038;s=books&#038;qid=1262360392&#038;sr=8-7#noop\">super book<\/a> that&#8217;s an Encyclopedia of Domestic Architectural Detail.  Further strengthening our position as house dorks.<\/p>\n<p>We reviewed our business accomplishments for 2009, set our goals for 2010, and spent a substantial amount of time working on a new quarterly publication that will be focused on analyzing real estate market data for Hartford County.
