Robeks Juice, West Hartford

In a sea of coffee shops and caffeine junkies, a healthier alternative has arrived. Robeks is a juice and smoothie bar located on Farmington Avenue in West Hartford Center. The menu has an extensive mix of juices, smoothies, and shakes which are sure to please even the most finicky consumer. If you have visited a Jamba Juice and enjoyed their drinks, Robeks will feel very familiar and is sure to put a smile on your face.

Robeks makes fresh juices onsite, some of which you may have never tried before. Carrot-Apple juice is just one delicious example. Smoothies are Robeks most common offerings, which are a mixture of fruit and frozen yogurt. They can also add protein or other ingredients to your drink, such as Ginseng and Echinacea, to give you an extra boost. Robeks smoothies are medium consistency and drinkable through a straw. While they say their yogurt tastes “tart,” I would just call it really tasty. The Berry Brilliance® smoothie, which contains – juice, berries, bananas and frozen yogurt – is my favorite so far.

A large smoothie at Robeks costs around $5, which seems expensive, but is actually competitive with most gourmet coffee drinks today. Plus, with the addition of protein to the drink, a smoothie can almost pass as a meal. Although I haven’t tried it yet, Robeks even makes a heavier shake which claims to possess 50g of protein.

I definitely recommend Robeks to anyone who loves smoothies…but beware of brain freeze!

  1. I’d been hesitant about going here, but your post has convinced me. That, and I clicked on the link and saw that they have chocolate peppermint smoothies, which is the exact level of nutrition that my body can handle.

  2. Yeah, I had to go once to check it out and make sure Grant’s review was on the up-and-up. 😉 I’m not usually a smoothie person. I had the Orange Freeze, which I’d highly recommend. I thought it was a little pricey, so just got the Junior size, which was more than enough.

  3. Great review! I tried a smoothy at Robeks and it was delicious! I can’t remember the name, but it had cranberry in it. The junior size was plenty. I plan on being a frequent customer this summer! Keep the awesome reviews coming!
