The ACS Hartford Home Show is in town this weekend at the XL Center, and has been advertising like crazy. We got a mailer the other day offering free parking and buy-one-get-one-free admission. It runs Friday, January 15th from 11:00 – 10:00; Saturday, January 16th from 10:00 – 8:00; and Sunday January 17th from 10:00 – 6:00. Admission for adults is $9 and children under 16 get in free. Once again, it’s at the XL Center (former Hartford Civic Center).
But wait, there’s more! Hartford has two additional home shows in the works for the first weekend in March.
The Osborne Jenks Productions Spring Home Show, is a bigger event than this weekend’s ACS show, and will be at the CT Expo Center. They are open on Friday, March 5th from 5:00 – 9:00; Saturday, March 6th from 10:00 – 9:00; and Sunday, March 7th from 10:00 – 6:00. Admission for adults is $10, seniors are $8, and children under 12 get in free. On-site parking is free if you print out their coupon.
The CT Home & Remodeling Show, at the “new” Convention Center, is the largest event. They will be open on Friday, March 5th from 4:00 – 9:00; Saturday, March 6th from 10:00 – 9:00; and Sunday March 7th from 10:00 – 5:00. There is an interactive floor plan online that lets you see which exhibitors will be there and where their booths will be – it’s actually pretty cool. Admission will be $10 for adults, though it’s not currently clear what the prices are for seniors and children.
As the shows in early March get closer, both of the promoters will ramp up the marketing. It’s pretty common to find discounted admission and/or parking subsidies if you’re looking for them.
We enjoy checking out the shows to meet different vendors and to learn more about the various products and services that are available to homeowners. Each show has its own feel and character, and they each take different amounts of time. Last year we did a Home Buyers Seminar in conjunction with the CT Home & Remodeling Show (at the Convention Center), and are working on setting up another one for this year. Feel free to call or email if you would like more information.
