The crushing weight of this winter’s heavy snowfall is taking a heavy toll on area landscaping. After initially focusing on the potential damage to our own shrubs, I’ve begun to notice that others are experiencing similar problems. The subject even came up (unprovoked) at a recent dinner party we attended. Here at Casa Bergqui, the primary issue is snow and ice cascading off the roof and onto the shrubbery along the front of the house.
Well that stunk. January is in the books and it seemed really slow. It takes a couple days for agents to get all their negotiated contracts into the MLS, so we still don’t know just how much slower it was than recent years. I don’t know about you, but we got 19 inches of snow in Hartford last Wednesday. I chronicled it here and here and here. It was a nice day to kind of lay low and then shovel out.
